Jorge Noro Villagra served as National Judge for 27 years until his retirement in 2007. He developed an outstanding 42-year career in the Judicial Branch of the Federal Government.

Prior to serving as a Judge, he was First Instance Juvenile Advisor in Civil and Commercial Matters, Secretary of Chamber A of the National Court of Civil Appeals and Secretary of Jurisprudence of the same Chamber.

Before becoming a Judge, he held different senior positions as Juvenile Public Defender before the National Civil and Commercial Courts and Secretary of the National Civil Courts of Appeals. As a National Judge, Jorge developed one of the most innovative programs for reuniting distressed families that allowed children of divorced or separated parents to reestablish family bonds.

He was a member of the Juvenile and the Technology Committees of the National Civil Courts of Appeals. He actively participated in the training of judges and other court officers through the Judiciary Training School of the Association of National Magistrates and Court Officers. Jorge actively promoted the adoption of mediation processes as a tool to resolve disputes. He lectured in different National and International Congresses and Symposiums on matters related to family law, mediation and dispute resolution. He was elected by his colleagues to be their representative before the National Magistracy Council, the government body responsible for conducting processes for the selection and removal of judges. In 2016 he served as advisor in the Mental Health Committee of the National Ministry of Health.

He is an active member of the Association of National Magistrates and Court Officers. Since his retirement as a Judge in 2007, Jorge advises individuals and families in a variety of matters. He focuses his practice in civil and commercial matters, with particular experience in probate and inheritance processes, complex litigation, family matters, estate planning and mediation as a tool for dispute resolution.
